Differences Between LiftMaster Garage Door Motors

We get asked a lot what the difference is between the motors we install.  Each LiftMaster motor comes with reliability that last for years but have some differences. So, which one is right for you?

The first model we offer is a LiftMaster chain drive motor. This motor is fairly quiet and best suited for a single-story home or two-story home without any bedrooms above the garage. This model comes with a wall button to operate your door from the comfort of your garage, safety beams that are designed to sense if anything is in the area where the door will close, myQ technology that sinks up to your smart phone or device via app and 2 remotes.

The second model we offer is a LiftMaster belt drive motor. This motor comes with everything listed above, except the wall button is upgraded to a Smart Wall Console, which tells you the time, temperature, battery life of your motor and it can diagnosis any problems that your motor or garage door experiences like blocked sensors or excessive force from your springs. You can also sink it up with your myQ app. This model is much quieter than the chain drive, making it the perfect option for homes with bedroom above the garage.

The other motor that we offer is a LiftMaster Jackshaft Motor. This model is ideal for a garage with low head room or a garage door that you would like high lifted. Unlike traditional motors that mount to the center of the garage ceiling, the LiftMaster Jackshaft motor mounts to the side of the garage door giving you much more room overhead! It comes with a Smart Wall console, battery backup, myQ technology, safety beams and 1 remote and is the quietest of all three motors.

You can’t go wrong with any of these LiftMaster models. Give us a call and we would be happy to give you a free estimate or set an appointment.
